Last February 16th, the WiN Global community embarked on an enriching journey with the official launch of the highly anticipated global Mentoring Programme.

With nearly 100 participants joining from around the globe, the event provided insights into registration to the programme, platform navigation using Mentorcity, and firsthand accounts of the benefits and experiences shared by WiN members serving as mentors or mentees.

If you missed it, we invite you to watch the full event and subscribe to our Youtube channel: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oL5DSVyFh5s

The virtual launch unfolded in two different parts. Moderated by Melina Belinco, WiN Global Vice-President, the opening session featured inspiring statements from Dominique Mouillot, WiN Global President, and William D. MAGWOOD, IV, Director-General of the OECD Nuclear Energy Agency (NEA).

Subsequently, a dynamic panel discussion took place which involved esteemed figures from the nuclear industry who are currently part of the WiN Global Mentoring Committee and had a key role to making this programme a reality. We extend our gratitude for their invaluable contributions to Callum Thomas, Founder and Chair of Thomas Thor; Keiko Chitose, WiN Global Executive and Nuclear Safety Specialist at the NEA; Andrea Bachrata, Head of the Experimental Laboratory at CEA IRESNE and leader of the WiN Global Group of Expertise WiNEXI; and Patricia Schindler, WiN Europe lead and WiN Global General Secretary, as well as to Natalie Bonilla, NEA Deputy Head of the Office of Policy and Co-ordination, who enthusiastically moderated this enlightening dialogue. At the end of this panel, she also promoted an enriching first-hand testimony between Iva Petrickova, Policy Advisor at NEA, and Camelia Halid Walid, Operator of the nuclear research reactor (RSG-GAS) in Indonesia, who were able to start a fruitful mentor-mentee relationship thanks to the WiN Global Programme.

Last but not least, we had the special participation of Shawn Mintz, President of MentorCity, who showed the functionality of the MentorCity platform, which enables individuals to register as mentors and/or mentees for free and provides matching between both of them based on described criteria by participants.
