INSEN for Youth: A Unique Opportunity for the Next Generation of Nuclear Security Professionals

,

April 24, 2025

In celebration of the 15th anniversary of the International Nuclear Security Education Network (INSEN), the IAEA has launched an exciting new initiative: INSEN for Youth. This global action aims to support and empower students and early career professionals interested in pursuing careers in nuclear security.

This year, the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) invites eligible individuals to submit short papers that present their ideas, perspectives, and innovative approaches to nuclear security. This is a valuable chance to contribute to international dialogue and showcase your passion for making a difference in this vital field.

From the pool of applicants, five outstanding individuals will be selected to attend the INSEN Annual Meeting in Mito, Japan, taking place from 10–14 November 2025. In particular, the IAEA encourages women and applicants from developing countries to apply.

Selected participants will:

  • Present their work to a global audience

  • Receive a travel stipend

  • Take part in a mentorship programme

  • Access exclusive networking opportunities with international experts

Beyond the event itself, participants will gain invaluable benefits that extend well into their professional journey. These include opportunities for professional development, increased international recognition, potential for career advancement, and meaningful experiences that contribute to personal growth.

How to Participate

This is a unique opportunity to grow, connect, and make your mark in the field of nuclear security. Whether you are a student, a young professional, or someone looking to broaden your career path, INSEN for Youth offers a platform to be part of shaping the future.

We encourage you to share this incredible opportunity with eligible individuals from your chapter, university, or organization — let’s inspire the next generation of nuclear security leaders, together.
