Talent Knows No Gender: Inspiring the Next Generation of Women in Nuclear Science

,

February 11, 2026

On this International Day of Women and Girls in Science, WiN Global celebrates the power of talent without gender. By recognizing outstanding women leaders and changemakers, we reaffirm our commitment to inclusion, excellence, and inspiration — shaping a more diverse, innovative, and sustainable nuclear future.

According to the 2023 Gender Balance Report published by the OECD Nuclear Energy Agency (NEA), women represent 24.9% of the global nuclear workforce, and only 36.9% report having female role models or mentors. Women also identify the lack of visible female leaders and persistent socio-cultural perceptions that nuclear careers are “masculine” as key barriers.

In a sector defined by excellence, safety, and innovation, diversity and inclusion are strategic imperatives. They strengthen decision-making, reinforce safety culture, drive innovation, and expand our ability to attract, develop, and retain the next generation of talent.

With this spirit of transformation, we proudly present the finalists of our prestigious WiN Global Awards, recognizing excellence, commitment, and leadership across our global network.
